CHAIRMAN’S UPDATE – Save Bombardier, leave the EU, rebuild and invest in British industry
|
Dear fellow patriot, The industry of our country has been in decline for years. We were once the workshop of the world. What do we make here now? Jobs are hard to find now for our youth. Bombardier workers are the latest facing the threat of foreign competition. They are fighting against the loss of more than 1,400 (nearly half the workforce) jobs at the train firm. They are campaigning to get the ConDem government to reverse its decision to award the lucrative Thameslink carriage contract to Germany’s Siemens. Thameslink trains are merely the start. Next at stake is the £16bn Crossrail route. Under European Union laws, governments must advertise contracts to all companies located within the EU, and decisions must not be based on a bidder’s nationality or location. But those in the know understand that many EU governments are biased in favour of their domestic manufacturers. Understandably so. Business Minister Vince Cable openly admits that France and Germany apply the EU rules on procurement to their advantage, but he plays by the rulebook anyway. The ConDem government looked only at the cost of rolling stock. The social costs of the elimination of an entire industry, loss of skills and the effect on Derby didn’t enter into their calculations. Nor did the cost to the taxpayer of all the lost jobs. The problem is not just competition for jobs from European Union firms. We are also competing with the Third World slave-labour economies where workers get paid 30p a day. Even at home, non-unionised, cheap migrant labour is forcing our people out of jobs. The British National Party says that the economy should be managed for the benefit of our people and not for the benefit of the banksters, privateers and fatcats.
The British National Party can turn around the economic decline of our country. We know what needs to be done, and we know how to do it. Increasing numbers of our people are sick of the way that ‘their’ government puts them last. They can see that without jobs in our communities there will be no hope for the youth. Crime and deprivation accompany factory closures and destroy neighbourhoods. The Lib-Lab-Con parties offer despair, and the British National Party offer hope.
If you share our concerns, if you care about our country, please join us. If you can’t join us, send a small donation. Even a small amount will help and show you care. We must get the message out. Together we can make a difference. We can’t do it without your help. Yours faithfully, Nick Griffin, MEP P.S. Only the British National Party will make the economy serve the British people and provide them with jobs, security and hope. We don’t care about the Fatcats and Banksters. We care about you.
